Alan has had a camera in hand since early grade school. My first formal training was for my merit badge, taught by my father. We had a home darkroom for several years to get my hands dirty. For many years after that I photographed family and trips while I taught. After retiring from the faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, I devoted full time to improving my skills. In 1999 I began the switch to digital which seems not to be that much of a challenge. Light is light, sensors are sensors. The processing is just much neater!

I make color photographs, b/w photographs, black & white photographs, black and white photographs, pictures of austin, pictures of the Texas hill country, for fine art prints, or downloading for personal printing, or stock photos, photos stock, stock images. I also produce surreal and abstract images by compositing various photos together. Central Texas is my home and my pictures capture Austin, Travis County, Burnet and Blanco counties on a regular basis. In addition I do small product photography and booth shot photography for use in art festival and art fair applications, including formatting for Zapplication.
